Seitdem ich in das traumhafte Zuhause von Ann Marie Favot, Design Redakteurin bei Style at Home eingetaucht bin, komme ich nicht mehr davon los... Ihre weiße Wohnwelt fasziniert mich durch die Art der Kombination von klaren Formen mit modernem Design und ausgewählten Accessoires. Das weiße Regal gibt Ann Maries Kunstobjekten einen wunderbaren Rahmen, findet ihr nicht?

Ever since I came across the beautiful home of Ann Marie Favot, design editor at Style at Home, I'm hooked... The different shades of whites, the clear forms and the mix of modern furniture give each room a bright, crisp but still warm feeling. It's lovely how she uses the white shelves as an art display, don't you think?

Für alle, die wie ich Wohnen in Weiß lieben, ist es wichtig, verschiedene Weiß Töne zu kombinieren. So vermeidet man, ungewollt eine kalte Atmosphäre zu schaffen. Die Kombination von viel Weiß mit ausgewählten Erdfarben, Khaki, Grau oder Pastelltönen und zarten Mustern, z.B. in Tapeten oder Kissen unterstreicht die strahlende Wirkung von hellen Designs.

When you love white interiors as I do, I think it's important to combine different shades of white to ensure that the rooms don't look sterile. Also add some neutral tones like grey, khaki or pastel colors to emphasize the white effect. Delicate and simple patterns in wallpapers or fabrics are a great match to all white interiors...

Diese Woche habe ich Lust auf Farbe. Mit dem Farbhoroskop geht's zum bunten Personality Check... Sucht euch zuerst zwei eurer Lieblingsfarben aus und erfahrt dann was für ein Farbtyp ihr seid. Auf der Fashionseite bin ich zu 100% ein Fan von Schwarz. Was die Farben für Wohnen und Lifestyle angeht, bin ich momentan ein Mix aus Erdbeere und Papaya mit einem Schuss Khaki (Oh, sind doch mehr als zwei geworden, aber es stimmt fast alles...!). Fun Things For This Weekend!

Hallo zusamen! Wie geht es euch an diesem Samstag? Ich fühle mich blendend und freue mich auf ein schönes langes Pfingstwochenende und auf ganz viel inspirierende Sachen... Hier ein paar meiner Highlights für euch:

Nr. 1 - Ein Streifen-Mädchen sein und am "Stripe Mania" Event teilnehmen...
Aufgerufen zu dieser witzige Idee hat Holly Becker von decor8 (ihr erinnert euch, ich habe im Februar bei ihrem tollen Onlinekurs BYW mitgemacht)... Blogger aus aller Welt zeigen sich im Streifenlook... Da ich heute ein passendes Top anhabe und eine Freundin zum Kaffeeklatsch vorbei kam, wurde schwupps ein Bild gemacht. Bis morgen könnt ihr auch noch euren Hang zum Gestreiften ausleben und hier mitmachen. Die große Pinnwand mit Fotos von allen teilnehmenden Bloggern gibt es hier zu bewundern...

Hello everyone! How are you doing this Saturday? I'm feeling fabulous and looking forward to a great, long Pentecost weekend with lots of inspiring stuff to do... Here's a little list of the things I just did or still want to do:

No. 1 - Taking part in the Stripe Mania blogger event!
Holly Becker from decor8 (remember, I took her great online class BYW this February) and her friend Igor Josif came up with this cool idea... bloggers from all over the world share their pictures wearing stripes... Yay, I think it's so exciting to see all the faces behind the wonderful blogs we read... I had a friend over for a little coffee chat on my balcony today and she took this picture of me... Taadaaa, here I am, raising my cup to bloggers everywhere. It's great to be a part of this creative and inspiring community. Die gerade erschienene Ausgabe ist voller wunderschöner Fotos und leckerer Rezepte, die einem ganz viel Appetit auf all die köstlichen Sachen machen. Ich werde auf jeden Fall die Erdbeer Soda ausprobieren und vielleicht einen der Kuchen. Die sehen doch wirklich zum Reinlegen aus, oder?

Ein dickes Dankeschön geht an alle Casa & Co Fans und meine neuen Blog Leser für eure nette Gesellschaft diese Woche! Ich finde es immer besonders aufregend einen Blick in die Welt von Persönlichkeiten zu werfen, die mich inspirieren. Martha Stewart ist eine davon... Als ich jetzt Bilder der Räume ihrer Living Redaktion entdeckte, erwartete ich ein perfekt gestyltes Ambiente. Doch ich wurde positiv überrascht... Martha und ihr Team sind doch ein bisschen wie wir - und ihre kreative Welt überrascht mit kleinen sympathischen Noten. Macht euch selbst ein Bild und hüpft einfach mal rüber zur Foto-Tour...

I heart Amsterdam - Part Two

Heute gibt es den zweiten Teil meines Kurztrips nach Amsterdam. Ich nehme euch mit in einige meiner Lieblingsshops... Los geht's...!

It's time for a round-up of my trip to sweet Amsterdam. Are you in the mood for some shopping? Okay, let's go...!

Sind die Sachen von Sukha nicht wunderschön? Ich könnte in diesem tollen Laden in der Harlemmerstraat wirklich fast alles mitnehmen... Besonders die dick gestrickten und gehäkelten Kissen, Vasen Hüllen und Poufs der Designerin Ineke van Heins haben es mir angetan. Ob ich sowas mit meinen bescheidenen Strickkünsten auch hinbekomme? Das blaue Geschirr von Jeanine Eek Keizer und die bunten Retrokissen können jederzeit gerne bei mir einziehen... Momentan erholt sich mein Konto aber noch von den Reisekosten... Was gefällt euch am besten?

Aren't the products from Sukha adorable? I could buy almost everything from this fabulous shop in the Harlemmerstraat. My heart fell for these knitted and crocheted cushions and home accessories by talented designer Ineke van Heins. I'm wondering, if I can make these with my limited knitting skills... The blue tableware from Jeanine Eek Keizer and the cute Retro cushions are very welcome at my home as well. But for the moment my bank account is still recovering from the trip. What do you like best from Sukha's line?

Als ich durch die Tür dieses kleinen schnuckeligen Ladens trat, schlug mein Fashionherz sofort höher... Uiii  so viele tolle Farben und ein ganzer Regenbogen an bunten Portemonnaies, Taschen und Accessoires aus Leder. Alles aus der niederländischen Designschmiede von Cellarich. Farblich passende Schals und Schmuck gibt's auch noch dazu. Da fällt die Auswahl wirklich nicht leicht...

After entering this cozy little shop, the Fashionista in me sang... So many lovely colors and a rainbow of trendy wallets, bags and accessories greeted me, all tailor made by designlabel Cellarich. Matching scarves and jewellery complete the range, making it even more difficult to decide what I want... 

Beim Schaufenster von Restored hat mich sofort die zauberhafte Deko angezogen. Die Kombination der Erd- und Nudetöne mit den floralen Mustern und Accessoires finde ich einfach genial! Auch die Idee Zweige unter große Glashauben zu stellen, ist klasse, oder?! So eine Glocke besitze ich übrigens auch und sobald ich den passenden Ast gefunden habe, wird das umgehend ausprobiert... Im Laden selbst konnte ich dann die ausgefallenen Wand-Wort-Kreationen aus gehäkelten Buchstaben bewundern, neben schönen Schmuckstücken aus Holz und anderen Materialien, die u.a. in weißen Schaukästen sehr dekorativ präsentiert wurden. (Notiz für mich selbst: Bei Ikea nach Holzkisten stöbern und weiß anmalen...)
Schaut doch mal im schönen Onlineshop des Ladens vorbei, aber Vorsicht: Suchtgefahr!

The shop window from Restored magically attracted me... The combination of earth and nude colors along with floral patterns and accessories is so my style. Love everything about it! Putting twigs under a glas coche is something I'll definitely try with mine, once I find the perfect twig... In the shop I admired the stylish wall art made of crocheted words and some fine jewellery displayed in white wooden boxes. (note to myself: Look for wooden boxes during the next visit to Ikea and paint them white) I invite you to have a look at their nice onlineshop. But careful: it's addictive! 

Jetzt heißt es vorerst Amsterdam Lebwohl' zu sagen bzw. ich hab' ja jetzt gelernt, dass man in Holland oft "Dag" für "Tschüss" sagt. Also "Dag!" gesagt, an eine meiner Lieblingsstädte... Ich komme bestimmt bald wieder... versprochen! Und euch wünsche ich noch einen wunderschönen Mittwoch und hoffe, die kleine Shoppingtour hat euch gefallen...

Einen zauberhaften Montag wünsche ich euch allen und begrüße euch herzlich auf Casa & Co!

Ja, ich habe den Sprung gewagt und bin umgezogen. Nachdem ich schon einige Zeit mit meinem ursprünglichen Blognamen nicht mehr richtig glücklich war, habe ich lange nach einem passenden Namen gesucht. Da ich immer schon ein Faible fürs Einrichten und schönes Design hatte und gerne überall nach besonderen Dingen fürs Zuhause suche, fiel die Wahl auf Casa & Co. Ganz nach dem Slogan "decorate your life" möchte ich auf meinem Blog einen bunten Mix aus Wohnideen, Deko Tipps, DIY Anleitungen und Shopping Empfehlungen vorstellen. Eben ganz viel Inspirationen fürs Nest... Ich bin gespannt wie euch der neue Name, das Design und alles gefällt... Über euer Feedback und Kommentare freue ich mich besonders und wäre happy, wenn ihr mich auch weiterhin auf meinem Weg durch alles Wohnsinnige begleitet! Hello sweet readers and welcome to my new blog Casa & Co!
Yes, I made the move and decided it was time for a fresh start with a new name...

After some time of not being totally happy with my first blog name - I picked that when I started the Blogging your way class of Holly Becker from decor8 this February. But after a while I got the feeling it was not 100% resembling what I wanted to write about and that it was difficult for people to understand the name when hearing it for the first time.

So I started looking for a new name... Casa & Co came to my mind one night when I lay in bed, unable to sleep and dreamed myself away to the little interior shop I always want to open one day... For as long as I can think of, I liked decor and finding sweet things for my nest. When I was little it were the lovely things for my stuffed toys and building dream houses from Lego. Today I live my passion for interior design, pretty paper, stationary, lovely fabrics and unique gifts. So it's all about nice things for my home and a colorful live - that fits Casa & Co and my slogan "Decorate your life"!

Well, to make a long story short, I'm happy that you made your way here and of course now I'm anxious to know, what you're thinking? Let me know how you like everything, the blog name, my design... tell me what's good and what could be better... If you're interested in more personal facts, I share some on my new "about" page. Wie gefallen euch meine neuen Küchenschätzchen? Ich muss noch einen Platz für sie finden, wo sie gut zur Geltung kommen. Schon witzig, dass ich gerade erst aus Amsterdam zurück bin und jetzt diese Dosen mit Hollandmuster finde, oder?

Apropos Amsterdam. Ich schulde euch ja noch Bilder von den Kleinigkeiten, die ich mir dort gegönnt habe. Das Papier bezogene Notizbuch ist von Het Grote Avontuur. Wer den Laden in der Harlemmerstraat 25 im Jordaan Viertel noch nicht kennt, dem sei ein Besuch unbedingt empfohlen... Dort findet ihr neben schönen Papieren, Vintage Stoffe, Geschirr, Kissen, Retro Möbel und Kuriositäten aus aller Welt. Den Holzstempel und die kleinen Papiertags lächelten mich so freundlich aus dem Schaufenster von De Posthumuswinkel an, dass ich sie einfach mitnehmen musste. Jetzt haben sie alle ein neues Zuhause in meinem Arbeitszimmer gefunden und warten gespannt auf ihren Einsatz im nächsten Bastelprojekt...

Since I just returned from lovely Amsterdam I thought it was a great coincidence of now spotting these food containers with dutch decor here in Germany... I need to find them a nice place in my kitchen, so they can shine...

Like promised last week, I also want to show you some of the goodies I bought in Amsterdam. The paper covered notebook is from Het Grote Avontuur, Harlemmerstraat 25 in the Jordaan district. I love this store and always find something when I'm there! You can indulge yourself in lots of vintage decor, pretty papers, lovely stamps, retro furniture and curiosities from around the world. Definitely worth a visit, when you're in the city. The dandelion rubber stamp and the paper tags smiled at me so happily from the shop window of De Posthumuswinkel that I couldn't resist and had to take them along... They all found a nice new home in my office and wait for their future craft projects...

Meine neue alte Liebe heißt Baumwollgarn und zwar in allen Farben... Die zauberhaften Bänder erleben seit einiger Zeit ein echtes Revival. Mit ihrem schlichten und doch schönen Look erinnern sie an Großmutters Zeiten und geben Geschenken einen Hauch von Retro und Handmade. Ob für Selbstgebackenes, die neueste Marmeladenkreation, als Verzierung für Präsente, Tischkarten, den Brautstrauß, Geschenkanhänger oder Visitenkarten - die Einsatzmöglichkeiten von buntem oder einfarbigem Garn sind grenzenlos. Wofür nutzt ihr die flotten Bänder?

My new and old love is pretty twine. Yes, I know it's been around for a while now, but I'm still a big fan. Colorful cotton or natural burlap yarn add a lovely charm to all kinds of projects. I use twine for gift wrapping, tags or homemade goodies. But you can also use it for place cards, flower arrangements and lots of other things. I think the possibilities are endless. What are yor favorite twine ideas?

Seid ihr auf den Geschmack gekommen? Oder wart ihr vorher schon bedingungslose Baumwollgarn Fans...? Ich freue mich jedenfalls immer wieder, wenn ich neue Einsatzmöglichkeiten entdecke. Probiert doch mal die tolle Anleitung von Paper Treats aus. Sie zeigt, wie man aus Garn und mithilfe einer Gabel kleine zauberhafte Mini PomPoms herstellt. Und April von Secondsister teilt auf The Twinery ihre Idee für kleine PomPom Blüten mit uns. Süß, oder?

Bei The Twinery, die übrigens auch einen interessanten Blog schreiben, gibt es schöne Label gratis zum Ausdrucken. Denn Label und Garn gehören doch irgendwie zusammen, findet ihr nicht? Einfach eine Butterbrottüte nehmen, ein kleines Geschenk hinein tun und alles mit einer Schleife aus buntem Garn und einem Label verzieren: "von mir für dich"... Handmade with love!
